The Colorado Adventure Park is the preferred partner of Vacations Inc for tubing and they advertise themselves as “Grand County’s newest, fastest, largest and safest adventure park”. In addition to tubing, they offer Snow Scoots and a terrain park.
What is Tubing?
Want to know what tubing is all about? Well, it’s one of those “wacky” activities that has been around for many years, popular with kids and adults alike and cannot be missed during a winter vacation to this area.
Located just 1/2 mile behind the main shopping center in Fraser, the tubing hill itself is a groomed lighted hillside, “smooth and slippery”, and instead of a tube-tow lift system, Colorado Adventure Park has invested in a Magic Carpet to enable you to stand and ride with your tube back up to the top. From there, choose from a variety of terrain from slow and easy to fast and wild (including a section with a bump that will get you some air!). Literally speed down the hill in a large inflated inner tube (supplied) with an adrenalin buzz that is guaranteed to put a huge smile on your face! Descend individually, in tandems, or group “clusters” where the speeds are the highest, and the run-outs the longest!
An exciting fun activity for all the family (ages 3 and up), during the height of the season the tubing hill is open daily, although operating hours vary. Currently, they are Monday-Sunday, 10AM-10PM. Rates are $18.00/hour or $27.00 for 2 hours. Want to combine tubing with Snow Scoots? Combo packages are available for $22.00 – a savings of $6.00.
